About Lawrence House
Constructed in 1893, Lawrence House was among the first campus residences named after an alumna—Elizabeth Crocker Lawrence, class of 1883, later a trustee and Alumnae Association president. Residents celebrate her birthday on November 11. In 1912, Lawrence House was the site of a nationally noted cooperative living experiment where residents performed all household chores.
