About Chapin House
Centrally located with views of the Lyman Plant House gardens, playing fields, and Paradise Pond, Chapin's motto is "Living on the Edge of Paradise." Historically, author Margaret Mitchell once lived here, and the house's distinctive staircase may have inspired the staircase at Scarlett O'Hara's fictional plantation in Gone With the Wind.
