About Cutter House
Situated directly across from the Campus Center, Cutter House features rooms with large full-width windows and a quiet "beau parlor" historically used for student visits in the 1950s. It adjoins Ziskind House, forming a shared courtyard; local lore suggests it was once planned as a pool site.
History & namesake
- Built in 1957 in the International Style by the firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and named for Elizabeth Reeve Cutter Morrow, class of 1896, who served as Smith's acting president in 1939. (Housing at Smith College (Wikipedia))
