About Capen House

Built in 1825, Capen House originally functioned as a law school before becoming part of Miss Bessie Capen's private school in 1883. Its stately Ionic portico, cupola, gazebo, and gardens exemplify classical revival architecture. The house accommodates 73 students across 29 singles and 22 doubles on three floors.
