Originally built in 1827 and converted to a campus residence in 1968, Chase House is named for Mary Ellen Chase, accomplished writer and Smith English professor. The house cultivates a cheerful, relaxed environment with weekly teas and two major annual celebrations. Designated floors operate as a substance-free community (no alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs).
